The Rev. Pat Ashe

16 August 2008
I have received so many letters, prayers, and even flowers from people who knew Marion and who have wanted me to know of their love and affection for her. I want to thank each one of you for the comfort that you have given me since Marion was called Home on 31 July 2008. She went peacefully in her sleep at home, and I was with her together with Jane and Ruth. Before long, we were joined by Lois, John, and Andrew, who set up a conference call with Robert (in Indonesia) and David (in Australia), so that we could all pray around the bed, and John led us in prayers for Marion.
Many of you were able to join us for Marion’s funeral on 14 August. Led by Ken Boullier (Lois’ husband), we were able to celebrate in a very special way Marion’s life through almost nine decades. While we shed tears, the tears were mainly in joy for the way in which Marion has helped so many people over the years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Marion and I were married for 58 years, and I thank God for each one of those years which brought me great joy. Both Marion and I have felt blessed by the wide circle of friends whom we have come to know over the years, and we always gave thanks to God for each one of you. Thank you for your love and care.
