1977-now: CORD expands to help people in new countries

After starting work in Thailand in late 1975, the CORD Committee was already seeking God’s guidance about the next step. The first project was the Shepherds of the Hill Children’s Home in the Philippines in 1977, and this was followed by projects in some twenty countries. CORD currently works in Burundi, Cambodia, Chad, Laos, and Myanmar, with projects encompassing peace-building, education, gender issues, human rights, natural resources, but above all a focus on changing lives.

The work, begun in 1966, continues to evolve, but CORD remains true to the original vision of helping one child – and then another.
